Annual Dinner for the Needy

We’d like to take a moment of fond remembrance of June Tang-How (pictured above-right), who recently lost her battle with cancer.

June helped coordinate and run our "Annual Dinner for the Needy" event at St. John's Church every year, and you couldn’t imagine a more caring, warm and friendly person. We can’t fulfill our mission without people like June, and she will be missed.

Many of our guests at this event are homeless and/or in need of a helping hand, and through the efforts of people like June (and all the volunteers who make this happen), they’re able to relax for a while, load up on a hearty meal, and experience a little community.

They also have the opportunity to choose a coat from the selected donations and receive a hat, gloves and scarves to brave the weather for the rest of the season.

Thanks for all your compassion and help over the years, June. You are one in a million!
